Being a CPG/brand founder is akin to being a general contractor.
You have to be (or quickly become) an expert in product development, design, manufacturing, ops, supply chain, logistics, fulfillment, inventory management, performance marketing, brand marketing, finance, cash flow management, accounting, HR, legal and customer support, to name a few.
You’re the center of the wheel and all of these departments are spokes.
Which skill set do you think is MOST important for a CPG/brand founder to have? I’ll go first: cash flow management and financial discipline
This is one reason I love working with founders of consumer brands. They have to be really, really smart to be successful.
