Investors: Has this happened to you before?
I had a great call with a founder a few weeks ago. As a part of the diligence process, I reached out again the following week and asked to speak with the two other co-founders of the company.
The CEO’s response: “Thanks, but I think this process is a bit heavy for us at this stage and for this raise size.”
I was completely blown away by this — Writing a check is no small act. And, at the very least, potential investors should have the opportunity to talk to the three most important people in the company before committing.
