LP Spotlight is a new series highlighting the accomplished operators, investors and industry leaders who make up the Super Angel Network.
As the solo GP building SuperAngel.Fund, one of the biggest ways I help founders is through what we call the Super Angel Network: the incredible operators, investors and leading professionals who make up our community.
Making the right introduction at the right time can help a company raise capital, win a customer or hire a key team member, three of the most important needs of a growing business.
Today, I’m excited to launch our LP Spotlight series to introduce you to the people behind that network, highlight their work and perspectives, and create more of those connections across our community.
First up: Adrian Alfieri, founder and CEO of Verbatim.
Verbatim is a content marketing agency that helps high-growth startups and leading tech companies turn customer stories into content that builds credibility, generates qualified leads and helps close deals faster.
Before launching Verbatim, Adrian spent three years at Assembled Brands, supporting high-growth eCommerce businesses with working capital solutions. He graduated from Brown University in 2018 and also studied at the Rhode Island School of Design.
Adrian launched Verbatim in 2022 after noticing a recurring need among his founder friends: help turning customer success stories into content that drives sales. The agency has since worked with Granola, Profound, Slack, Unify and Perplexity. He was also named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in Marketing & Advertising.
Verbatim has also worked with several SuperAngel portfolio companies, including Motion, Highbeam, Siena, Two Boxes and Disco.
Beyond Verbatim, Adrian has been an active angel investor and scout across dozens of startups.
I’m proud to have Adrian as an LP in SuperAngel.Fund. He understands both sides of the table as an investor and a founder, and brings a practical perspective on how startups can turn happy customers into growth.

Tell us a little more about your background and what you’re focused on today.
Adrian: I started my career in venture out in SF and spun out Verbatim after a few years of investing. Initially it was just a vehicle to help B2B founder friends launch their content motions. Over time, we honed in on the most painful part of the process: case studies and social proof. Especially at the earliest stages of a company’s inflection, busy founders don’t have the expertise, time or attention to build best in class customer storytelling functions - but it’s critical that they do. Case studies, when executed effectively, help generate net new deals and tangibly increase win rates across a full sales cycle.
Verbatim is built to address this bottleneck. We help founders and GTM teams craft, launch and scale case study functions by owning the entire workflow end to end: spanning live customer interviews, drafting, editing, final cut approval management, on-site shipping and QC, and distribution support. Over the past 5 years, we’ve worked with hundreds of startups across every stage and vertical.
What motivated you to become an LP in SuperAngel.Fund?
Adrian: I’ve known Ben for years, way before starting Verbatim, and he’s consistently been on my shortlist of investors I look to whenever I need advice. And a lot of founders I know have Ben on their shortlists as well. Outside of being a friend that I trust for guidance, his investing track record speaks for itself. He places bets early and is among the top five hardest-working investors I’ve met to date, hands down.
What qualities distinguish exceptional founders and business leaders?
Adrian: The best founders I know are all genuinely curious people. They’re relentlessly curious about problems and why the world functions in a certain way. There’s a lot of different sources of fuel and ambition for founders, but I’ve found that true curiosity is one of the cleanest burning sources you can leverage.
What advice would you give an entrepreneur starting a business today?
Adrian: Just get started. Action produces information and you’ll build momentum along the way. When your back is up against a wall, it’s a pretty cool journey to discover what you’re actually capable of.
What is your favorite app or tool in your professional or personal life?
Adrian: A great gym is probably the best investment you can make. I’m a much better leader, friend, and partner when I’m consistently working out. Bonus: annual Citi Bike membership is a must if you’re in New York. Weekend morning rides up the West Side Highway do wonders for clearing your mind.
What do you love doing outside of work?
Adrian: I’ve been a diehard Arsenal fan since I was a kid, through the early Wenger years, the depths of Unai Emery at the helm and now sitting on top of the league under Arteta. It’s a good time to be a fan. You can usually find me at 7 AM on weekend mornings at an Arsenal pub somewhere around the city.
