I completely agree with what 🧬 🤖 ⚙️ Alex Iskold is saying here — Angel investing is an impossible balance between two realities…
1. Information always reveals itself with time
2. Early-stage deals move at lightning speed
If you have the time to take 3-4 meetings with a founder, you’ll learn just about everything you need to know about that person to make an investment decision. On the other hand, oftentimes pre-seed deals move so damn quick. The valuation or SAFE cap can change by millions in a matter of days, or even hours.
That’s the crux. You have to collect enough information as quickly as possible to make a decision, without missing out on the pricing that you want to get in at.
It’s the art of angel investing.
