How do you make noise?

The only way to get attention in this world is to take it. The only way to take it is by making noise.

That’s the goal every time I post something online — I want to make noise.

And, if you’ve followed me for a while, you know I post A LOT.

I’ve got:

- Founder Friday Newsletter
- Quarterly fund updates
- A blog
- Weekly Linkedin posts
- Daily Twitter/X posts

What makes the internet such an incredible ecosystem is the fact that it allows anyone to share their thoughts, beliefs, and theories with the world. And, at an effective distribution cost of $0.

The more I share; the more I create; the more I post; the more noise I make… The more that I receive in the form of new relationships and new opportunities!

But, you’ll notice something important in the way I make “noise”.

It’s all written.

That’s because I decided early on that “written” was the medium that suits me best. And, because I appreciate the control that it offers as compared to other options like live podcasts. And, for the cost effective nature of writing as compared to hosting live events. It became the medium I use for all of my ideas.

And that’s the key:

1. Choose a medium that best suits your personality.
2. Choose a channel that is built for that medium.
3. Choose a few formats on that channel.
4. Go deep, be consistent, and get really good at it.

Personally, I like writing because it allows me to work out the thoughts in my head before I share them with the world. In a way, it’s an opportunity to control the message and the presentation of my ideas.
