What doesn’t change in the journey is the person you invest in and the values they maintain…
Like it or not, each of us has a set of values that, for the most part, remain unchanged throughout our lives. These are our priorities, our work ethic, our integrity, and our ambition.
These represent who we are — the “constant” throughout the founder journey.
Starting a generational startup company requires a founder with unwavering ambition and a willingness to sacrifice everything to see their vision through.
And, I’ll be honest, it’s not for everyone. And that’s OK. You just can’t teach these values. You either have it or you don’t.
At the same time, a founder’s skillset needs to be able to evolve. A founder must be able to learn new things quickly and absorb new information quickly.
Obviously, they can’t be an expert in everything. But, they need to be able to at least learn and understand every part of their business.
The best founders know their companies inside and out.
