Founder Friday is a content series from SuperAngel.Fund highlighting companies in our portfolio and the inspiring founders behind them.
In our 32nd edition we are featuring Jonah Hanig, Founder & CEO of Rove, a real estate platform and marketplace enabling users to buy, manage and rent luxury, remote-work friendly rental properties.
Rove partners with property owners to manage their rental properties, turning them into premium, remote-work-friendly spaces that generate up to 70% higher annual returns than otherwise achievable. All Rove homes are professionally furnished and managed. Rove places vetted guests in each property, ensuring a consistent experience for owners and renters that make it possible to work, live, and travel without compromising on leisure, productivity, or luxury.
Rove's properties are seeding their launch of the first marketplace for investors to find, evaluate, and purchase nightly rental properties through an entirely digital transaction process. Features will include underwriting tools, a mortgage marketplace, stay before you buy, and a streamlined closing process with escrow, title and inspection handled by Rove.
Founder & CEO Jonah Hanig has a background as both an investment professional and serial entrepreneur to go along with his economics degree from Columbia University.

Describe your company in 5 words or less.
Jonah: Luxury, remote-work-friendly property rentals.
What was your primary motivation for starting your business?
Jonah: Rove addresses two personal pain points (1) working remotely from destination locations, especially while traveling, is a nightmare. Airbnbs and hotels aren't set up for it. (2) Buying and managing investment properties is a nightmare, but a core way to build wealth. I purchased a property I lived in, then turned into an investment home, in New York, and saw first hand the lack of accessible data in the buying process and challenges of being a landlord.
What piece of advice would you give an entrepreneur starting a business today?
Jonah: Build a business around a vision for solving a problem you firmly believe in; create a narrative that follows that. Remember that if you are delivering value for customers, and have the persistence to stick out the challenging times, you'll be on the path to building a big business.
What do you love to do in your free time?
Jonah: Running (I finished 76th in the 2021 New York City marathon), cooking, and traveling.
What is the most interesting place you’ve visited recently and why?
Jonah: I traveled to Spain this summer for vacation — the food and culture of the Mediterranean are hard to beat.
What is your favorite app or tool in your work life and in your personal life?
Jonah: Superhuman; inbox zero, email reminders, etc. are awesome.
What do you believe is the most important skill or attribute of a successful founder?
Jonah: Grit.
